Supply Chain IT Disaster Recovery: Kenco’s Kristi Montgomery at IWLA Nov. 7–8

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn.—October 29, 2013 (James Street Media Services)—Kenco’s Kristi Montgomery, vice president, IT, will speak about business contingency planning at the upcoming Technology & Operations Solutions for Warehousing Conference Nov. 7–8, 2013 in Chicago. Montgomery is also chair of the conference, which is sponsored by the International Warehouse Logistics Association (IWLA).

“Business Contingency—More Than Just Disaster Recovery” will be presented by Montgomery and Kathy Fulton, interim president of American Logistics Aid Network. The program will focus on the process, policies, and procedures necessary to prepare for recovery or continuation of technology infrastructure that is vital to an organization after a natural or human-induced disaster. It will cover the technology systems needed to support critical business functions, and how to develop a sustainable plan well before a disaster affects a business.

“We have seen some horrific natural disasters in recent years that have taxed both our supply chains and our core businesses—we need to be proactive in our planning,” said Montgomery. “Approximately 85 percent of global supply chains experienced at least one significant disruption over the past two years, which affects both the bottom line and our ability to be there for our customers when they need us most.”

Montgomery joined Kenco in 1990. As vice president of technology, she is responsible for all facets of technology including strategy, applications, infrastructure, support, and execution. She is a frequent speaker on the use of technology in the logistics and warehousing industries. She also serves as the chairman of the local IT Leadership Committee, is a member of her local chapter of Women in Technology, Inc., and is a Certified Information Executive Level II. She frequently volunteers in the BuildIT program in the local chapter of Girls, Inc., a program designed to encourage middle and high school girls to enter a career in information technology.
