Finding Supply-Chain Partnerships that Streamline Shipping

October 17 Traffic Club of Chicago Briefing Features Jane Suter of C.H. Robinson

CHICAGO, IL—September 25, 2013 (James Street Media Services)—Whether it’s at work or at home, the best buying tip is always “have a plan and stick to it.” And, supply chain professionals who attend the next Executive Series Luncheon hosted by The Traffic Club of Chicago on October 17 will learn how to create a logistics plan that emphasizes ongoing shipping efficiencies and great service for customers.

The featured speaker at the October Executive Briefing will be Jane Suter, vice president of transportation for C.H. Robinson, one of the world’s largest third-party logistics providers. Suter is responsible for the development of strategy for customer tiering, account management, and marketing. She focuses on the food and beverage, and retail and consumer-products industries.

“I encourage companies to evaluate their approach, before they evaluate providers to hire,” said Suter. “It’s just like having a plan when you go to the grocery store—if you stick to your list, you won’t blow your budget.”

Suter’s presentation will address: evaluating freight costs vs. landed costs; how to find the right “go-to” provider for your company; establishing long-term relationships with vendors; and how to leverage those relationships.
